6 Foods That Whiten Your Teeth

Everyone would like to have a bright white teeth, and it could also be obtain by consuming these six foods.

  1. Strawberry
    This beautiful fruit produce malic acid enzymes that help whiten your teeth. Either by eating or crushed it, brush your teeth with it, let it for 5 minutes then brush as usual.
  2. Crunchy Fruit or Vegetable
    For example is apple, celery, and carrots. Chewing it will help clean the plaque, brush it to your teeth to make it shine, and increase production of saliva, which is good for oral health.
  3. Cheese
    Cheese and other dairy products such as yogurt contain lactic acid which protect the teeth. Research showed that children who eat yoghurt 4 times a week is more protected from tooth decay. Cheese also contain calcium and phosphorus that are useful for tooth enamel.
  4. Orange and Pineapple
    When eating an orange, pineapple and other acidic fruits, mouth produce more saliva, which helps to clean teeth naturally.
  5. Baking Soda
    A research at 2008 found that toothpaste containing baking soda works better at removing plaque. You can just use baking soda directly, but doctors suggest not do it too often because it can erode tooth enamel. The safest option is to use toothpaste that contains baking soda.
  6. Chewing Gum Containing Xylitol
    Xylitol is a natural sweetener that can prevent plaque. Xylitol also neutralize the acidity in the mouth and increase saliva production to clean teeth.

Ever since I was a kid, I was always taught by my mom to eat strawberries because they're good for the teeth. And she is right all along. Not a lot of people know this, but eating strawberries can bring about a lot of benefits, including whiter teeth!

Hmm, keeping a list of the types of food that help promote whiter teeth is a good idea. It would be better if you also have a list of food that may stain your teeth, so that you can moderate your consumption of those kinds of food. But remember, there is no substitute to the good 'ol habit of brushing and flossing on a regular basis.
